Jonathan Benator
Partner
Jonathan Benator is a partner in Weissman’s commercial real estate practice, where he advises homebuilders, real estate investors, and developers throughout the real estate lifecycle—from acquisition and entitlement through construction, community operations, and disposition. He maintains a broad understanding of both the legal considerations and business objectives that drive real estate development.
He returns to Weissman after serving as Assistant General Counsel, Real Estate, for Beazer Homes, where he provided day-to-day legal counsel to regional leadership and key personnel across five divisions throughout the country. His experience in private practice and as in-house counsel informs his practical approach to negotiating transactions, managing risk, and resolving development issues that can delay projects. He translates complex legal matters into clear, actionable guidance that helps clients make informed decisions and move projects forward.
Throughout his career, Jonathan has counseled developers, property owners, community associations, and property managers on complex transactional, construction, and operational matters. His experience includes drafting, negotiating, and closing a wide range of commercial real estate agreements, including purchase and sale agreements, construction contracts, easements, access and cost-sharing agreements, declarations and covenants, zoning agreements, joint venture agreements, and land bank documents.
Jonathan has taught continuing education courses for attorneys and property managers and was recognized as a Georgia Rising Star in Real Estate by Super Lawyers from 2015 – 2023.
