Bradley A. Hutchins

Partner

Brad Hutchins focuses his practice on representing lenders, agents, developers, builders, investors, and homeowners in a broad range of real estate matters. As a seasoned residential real estate attorney, he regularly assists clients with closings, contract negotiations, and legal issues that arise during transactions. His work spans both litigation and transactional matters, with a focus on land use, zoning, and title issues.

Brad began his legal career in courthouse record rooms, learning to run title so he could understand real estate law from A to Z. This hands-on foundation has served him throughout his 25+ year career, enabling him to advise clients confidently on both residential and commercial real estate matters—including closings, disputes, and due diligence.

He also represents clients involved in the purchase of property tax liens and tax foreclosure deeds. With over two decades of experience, he has handled hundreds of quiet title actions in superior courts across Georgia and successful suits in property tax-related cases with more than 20 published appellate cases involving property tax issues. He serves as General Counsel to the Georgia Association of Tax Officials (GATO) and is a frequent author and speaker on tax and real estate topics, including teaching classes to tax commissioners around the state.  He also maintains a robust practice representing tax commissioners with all of their legal needs..

Brad is a registered lobbyist with the State of Georgia and routinely supports clients with local and state legislative efforts. Prior to joining Weissman, he was a partner at Proctor Hutchins, where he represented small businesses, builders, and developers in litigation and transactional matters.

He is admitted to practice in all Georgia trial and appellate courts, as well as the United States District Courts for the Middle and Northern Districts of Georgia, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and has been admitted pro hac vice before the Sixth Circuit.

An active leader in the real estate community, Brad formerly served on the Governmental Affairs Task Force and the advisory committee for the Council for Quality Growth. He is a former Executive Committee member of the State Bar of Georgia’s Real Estate Section and past chair of its Property Tax Committee. Brad has been recognized among Georgia Trend’s Legal Elite and holds an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell for outstanding legal ability and ethics.  Brad is also active with the Constitutional Officers Association of Georgia (COAG) often advising and assisting constitutional officers on legal matters.
