ATLANTA – Weissman, P.C. (“Weissman”), an Atlanta real estate and litigation law firm, is pleased to announce that Martin Shelton has joined the Commercial Real Estate group as a partner, David Rusnak has joined Weissman’s Litigation group as Partner, and Ashley Van der Lande has joined Weissman’s Commercial Real Estate group as an associate.

Martin Shelton brings almost 20 years of experience in environmental and land use law to the firm. He focuses his practice on trial and appellate litigation of environmental claims for both plaintiffs and defendants, counseling clients on addressing environmental issues arising in real estate transactions, ownership, and development, as well as compliance and permitting under environmental laws and regulations. His clients include individuals, corporations, neighborhood/community association groups, governmental entities, foundations, and non-profit organizations.
He is active in both the legal and environmental community and is a member of several state bars. Mr. Shelton received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina and his law degree from Georgia State University College of Law.
David Rusnak practices in the areas of state and federal litigation and arbitration, concentrating his practice in commercial real estate, landlord-tenant, and construction dispute resolution, as well as complex business and lending litigation. He represents national, regional and local developers, property owners, engineering firms and contactors, as well as other commercial concerns in all facets of commercial litigation and landlord-tenant disputes. He also counsels his development, property management, and construction-related clients on pre-litigation risk management and claims avoidance, contract drafting, mechanics’ and materialmen’s liens, and surety bonds.
Active in the legal community, Mr. Rusnak has served as a Trustee of the Institute of Continuing Legal Education of Georgia, and a chair and member of numerous state bar association and construction industry committees.
He received his undergraduae degree from Vanderbilt University and his law degree from Southern Methodist University School of law.
Ashley Van der Lande concentrates her practice on environmental law including litigation, compliance and permitting, and addressing environmental issues that arise in real estate transactions, ownership, and development.
A graduate of University of the South, Sewanee, Ms. Van der Lande received her law degree from Vermont Law School.
