Linda Curry, Linda Foster, Seth Weissman and Leigh Wilco Named 2010 Super Lawyers

Weissman, P.C., (“Weissman”), one of the nation's premier real estate law firms, is pleased to announce that four of the firm’s partners have been named 2010 Georgia Super Lawyers by Law & Politics Magazine. Linda Curry and Seth Weissman were named in the Real Estate category, Linda Foster was honored for her Insurance Coverage work, and Leigh Wilco was named in the General Litigation category.
Only five percent of lawyers in Georgia are named "Super Lawyers." "Super Lawyers" are nominated by peer review and selected through rigorous independent research and evaluation of Law & Politics magazine. The selection of “Super Lawyers” is a process designed to identify lawyers who have attained the highest degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.
Linda Curry, partner, has worked in commercial real estate since 1981 assisting builders and developers in creating complex ownership structures including condominiums, both office and residential; master planned communities; new urban communities; mixed-use developments and other types of real estate developments. In addition, she represents sellers, purchasers and lenders in commercial closing transactions. She is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and is currently serving a three-year national appointment to ULI’s Urban Development Mixed-Use National Council. Previously, she served as the chairperson of the Real Property Section of the State Bar of Georgia and sat on its Executive Committee for 6 years. She also served as co-editor of the Georgia Real Estate Law Letter. Ms. Curry received her law degree from Emory University (JD, with distinction, 1981) and her undergraduate degree from the College of William and Mary (A.B., 1974).
Linda Foster, partner, represents insurance companies in disputes with policyholders on a national, regional and state basis. She has extensive experience in claim counseling and litigation in a wide variety of insurance coverage areas including: pollution, construction defects, first party property, employment, asbestos and toxic torts. Ms. Foster also handles extra-contractual claims and suits. She is highly involved in the Insurance Coverage Committee of the Section of Litigation in the American Bar Association. She served as Co-Chair for ICLC’s award winning Midyear Meeting in March 2004 and served as Co-Chair of the committee from August 2004 through August 2007. Ms. Foster received her law degree from Indiana University (JD, cum laude, 1985) and her undergraduate degree from the BallState University (B.S., summa cum laude, 1982).
Seth Weissman, partner, represents developers, builders, real estate brokers and lenders. He heads the firm’s workout team and advises developers, lenders and new investor groups on their rights and responsibilities relative to troubled and/or foreclosed condominium, mixed-use and master planned communities. He authored The Red Book, the highly regarded legal reference used by real estate brokers and agents. As general counsel to the Georgia Association of REALTORS®, he drafts the standard real estate forms used by REALTORS® throughout Georgia. He also co-authored Secrets of Winning the Real Estate Negotiation Game. A member of the Urban Land Institute, Seth serves on the Executive Committee of the ULI Atlanta District Council. He is also an Adjunct Professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology’s School of City and Regional Planning, College of Architecture. Mr. Weissman earned his law degree from Duke University (JD, 1979), his masters in land use planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1978) and his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania (B.A., summa cum laude, 1975).
Leigh Wilco, partner, is chair of Weissman’s litigation practice. In his more then twenty-five years of practice, he has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide variety of cases including real estate disputes, personal injury, wrongful death, premises liability, contract disputes, construction claims, employment, race, age and religious discrimination claims, and professional liability. He also serves as neutral for private mediations and arbitrations. Mr. Wilco serves on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Legal Services Program, is a Master in the Bleckley Inn of Court and active in the Atlanta Bar Association and the Lawyers' Club of Atlanta. He received law (JD, with honors, 1982) and undergraduate degrees from the University of North Carolina (JD, with highest honors, 1978).
